Annual Viking Classic Car Show
On Saturday, October 19 th from 10Am to 5pm the streets of Solvang, California were filled with over 200 classic cars, trucks and motorcycles as well as display vehicles from first responders. Over 2500 spectators enjoyed perusing these vehicles as well as the Viking Beer and Wine Garden, Viking Parade Ship, food trucks and vendors in Solvang Park. One might also have been fortunate enough to glimpse or even have their picture taken with Marilyn Monroe!
The central coast was well-represented by multiple car clubs including the Nite Life Car Club of Santa Barbara, Central California Mercury Club, Surf City Classics, Ventura County Chevys, the Santa Ynez Valley’s own Pacific Valley Street Rods, Santa Ynez Valley Broncos, Paul Hinkle group, Gold Coast Rods and Paso Geezers.
An awards ceremony held at the Solvang Park gazebo was well attended by all registrants with over 50 awards presented for each of 26 classes as well as the winner of the 50/50 drawing, the Jimmy Vreeland Memorial Award, The Mayor’s Award, The Viking Chief’s Award and finishing with the coveted Best in Show for Stock and Modified vehicles. All award winners were gifted with a free beer or wine in the beer garden.
Spectators and registrants all agreed that the venue and weather were excellent and are looking forward to next year’s show.

Enter your pre-2000 vehicle or motorcycle for participation during the Annual Viking Classic Car Show. You’ll receive a t-shirt, as well as have the option to attend the Gala Dinner.
Proceeds go to the Vikings of Solvang, a 501(c)3 charity, to help for the medically related needs of qualified individuals and health care organizations within Santa Barbara County, and may be tax deductible.
Learn more about vehicle classes here. A new class, "Specialty Vehicles," has been added. This is for vehicles that don't easily fit into our current classes and are unique or unusual. Specialty vehicles may be made after 1999. Inquiries can be made here.
